Comedy Writing Tutor for Adult Stand-Up Workshop - In person

In person -this is not an online job. It is part of a 7-week in-person course. Based near Hitchin, UK. ⚠️ IMPORTANT: Please do not apply if you are not currently based in the UK. This is an IN-PERSON role in Hertfordshire, England, and is NOT an online position. Applicants must be able to travel to and deliver face-to-face sessions in person. We are running a 7-week beginner stand-up comedy course for adults and are looking for a comedy writer to deliver the first 3 weeks of the programme. Starting in August. The role involves teaching participants how to: • Structure jokes (set-ups, punchlines, callbacks) • Find humour in everyday life and personal experiences • Develop storytelling skills • Edit and strengthen their own material • Build a 3–5 minute stand-up routine Participants will write and perform their own material. We are looking for someone who can guide, mentor, and inspire complete beginners rather than write jokes for them. The successful candidate may work alongside a performance/improvisation coach during the wider 7-week programme.
