I'm looking for an experienced line editor, or two or three editors working in parallel, to help polish my next book. It is a data-led non-fiction guide to how part of the film business works. The first full draft is finished. The structure is settled, the research is done, and every figure and quotation has been checked against its source. The spelling is clean. Now it needs a good ear. I'd like the writing to: * read more naturally, more like one person talking to the reader; * lose any waffle, repetition or stiff phrasing; * keep a consistent tone from chapter to chapter. What the job is * A line edit for style, flow and concision. * Edits made in Track Changes in the Word files I send, with comments for anything you'd like me to decide. What the job isn't * Restructuring or developmental notes. The shape of the book is fixed. * Fact-checking. Figures, dates and quotations must stay exactly as they are. Ghost write/edit final draft of evaluation report.

I have a completed rough first draft of an evaluation report that already contains all content & analysis and is largely structured as it should be. I have used AI to pull it together, using written material and analysis I have previously produced for this project, and have since done a second pass to refine it a bit. My normal next step would be to now go through it again and re-write it up properly and humanly - removing/with no AI writing, removing repetition across and between sections, verbosity, and generally fine-tuning the content as well as structure/flow within each sub-section. Through this process, I am aiming to reduce the word count from approximately 16,000-18,000 to approximately 10,000-12,000 I am looking for someone with writing experience to take over this final step and to ghost-rewrite this report in terms of those aspects mentioned above. However, it would be a bonus if you also have experience in evaluation and/ or research in fields such as social science, business or health because I am open to more substantive revisions in terms of the content. I work with various UK clients that offer products and services to various business sectors.
