KoboToolbox / XLSForm Specialist Needed — Fast 5-Day Build

I am looking for an experienced KoboToolbox/XLSForm specialist to convert existing Word/Excel research instruments into functional, field-ready digital data-collection tools.

The questionnaires and research instruments have already been developed, so this is primarily a technical XLSForm/Kobo build rather than questionnaire design. The successful freelancer will need to understand the structure of the instruments, translate them accurately into KoboToolbox, implement the required logic and calculations, and test the forms before deployment.

Tools to be developed

The assignment includes:

Household baseline questionnaire — the main and most complex instrument, including household-member repeat groups, livelihoods/income activities, businesses, fuel/energy records, calculations, relevant scoring and derived indicators.
Group/table-banking verification form.
Structured observation checklist.
Structured KII/market data-collection form.
KII/FGD session metadata/summary form.
Technical requirements

The forms will require appropriate use of:

Skip/relevance logic and conditional sections.
Repeat groups.
Calculations and derived variables.
Income/expenditure and energy-related totals.
Validation and constraints.
Required fields.
Choice lists and appropriate question types.
Metadata fields such as date/time, enumerator and location where applicable.
Clean variable naming and logical form organisation.
WHO-5 or other agreed scoring calculations where specified in the questionnaire.

The freelancer should preserve the approved research questions and indicator definitions. Where a technical issue or possible simplification is identified, it should be flagged for discussion rather than changing the research design independently.

Testing

The completed forms should be uploaded to a test KoboToolbox project and checked for:

Skip/relevance errors.
Calculation errors.
Repeat-group functionality.
Validation/constraint issues.
Basic enumerator usability.
Offline functionality where applicable.

One reasonable round of corrections will be required after my review.

Deliverables

The successful freelancer will provide:

Fully functional KoboToolbox forms/project.
Editable XLSForm .xlsx source files for each tool.
Brief notes explaining important calculations or logic.
Basic guidance for enumerators/data managers where necessary.
