Help designing window layout to the front elevation of a house
I have a project which I propose to start next April. This will be our 5th project, so we are well versed with the process and completing similar projects. I am a qualified Building Surveyor and a Property Developer by profession: • We have planning permission for the works. • We designed the works and have had an architectural technician draw up the detail. • We have structural engineers designs and calculations. • We have construction drawings prepared. • We have Party Walls covered. • We have building Regs covered. • We have obtained quotes and have selected a builder. What we are not quite happy with is the front elevation which is probably the most important piece for us. How the house will look from the front is crucial. We have tried to finesse the elevation with our current “architectural technician” but he’s not a designer but is good at pulling the drawings together. We sent him AI generated images of what we wanted plus some photos of a property locally which we like. We like the painted brickwork, the colour of the pain etc. See pics and images below. I appreciate there are issues with where the openings sit in each room, but we are prepared to accept this to get the front looking its best. The roof on the drawings attached is not quite right too. I’m an artist putting together a 22-page zine to accompany my solo exhibition in October. It’s built around anonymous responses to the sentence “It’s alright that I…”, alongside my own paintings and drawings. I’m not a designer, so I’ve used AI tools to rough out content, structure and layout. It’s been a useful starting point but far from finished — some pages are closer to where I want them than others. The brief in one line: make it feel homemade, tactile and human — torn paper, typewritten text, handwriting, drawings, slightly wonky placement, real imperfection. I don’t want it to look slick, overly polished, or AI-generated. Timeline: I need this finished and print-ready within three weeks — by 22 September. UK Accountant / Tax Adviser Needed
We are a four-person family business operating in the UK spray-painting industry, and we are currently looking for an accountant who could support us on an ongoing basis as the business continues to grow. Before deciding on a long-term working relationship, we would first like to arrange a consultation and receive professional advice regarding our current business structure and the best way to operate going forward. At present, each of the four family members is registered separately as self-employed/sole trader. However, in practice we work closely together under the same trading name. We share premises, equipment, websites and a quoting system, and we usually issue one quotation to the customer. Each person is responsible for a different part of the business and the work, including customer service, work management, preparation and spray-finishing. Payments are currently divided between us, with each person receiving and keeping payment relating to the work they personally carry out. Our main concern is to understand whether the way we have been operating up to now is legally and tax compliant, particularly as we work closely together as one family business while remaining separately registered as sole traders. The business is now expanding and we are planning to employ one or two additional people. Because of this, we feel this is the right time to review our structure properly.
