RESEARCH & BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES - Proactively identify relevant grants, funding programmes, business awards, competitions, networking events and trade shows. - Research potential suppliers, partnerships, influencers and collaborations. - Assess opportunities I forward and recommend whether they're worth pursuing. - Present findings clearly: relevance, eligibility, cost, deadline, potential value and recommended next action. - Assist with researching and preparing applications where appropriate. 4. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & LAUNCH SUPPORT - Assist with pre-launch marketing and email-list activities. - Support customer research, surveys and outreach. - Help organise quotes, basic expense records and supplier information. - Coordinate agreed tasks with our website developer and designer. - Suggest practical improvements to systems, organisation and workflow. THE PERSON I'M LOOKING FOR You must be: - Highly organised, dependable and proactive. - Confident supporting a founder of a growing business. - Experienced with TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. - Comfortable with Canva, content scheduling and basic video editing. - Capable of independent research and sensible business recommendations. - An excellent communicator who follows through on commitments. - Comfortable working within UK business hours when required. - Interested in building a genuine, long-term professional relationship. Experience with fashion, e-commerce, startups or equestrian brands would be advantageous. WORKING ARRANGEMENT This is a remote, part-time freelance opportunity with the potential to expand as GOTHYARD grows. We are currently self-funded and pre-revenue, so I'm looking for someone who can propose a realistic, affordable starting arrangement while delivering consistent, high-quality work. UK solicitor to check a privacy policy, terms and cookie notice

We have built a web app (with iPhone and Android apps to follow) for parents in the UK. It helps them keep their own records about their children: incidents, school and social care letters, appointments, and what to do if a child goes missing. It is run by a UK Ltd small company in UK. Parents are 18 or over, and children don't have accounts. All data is stored in London. This is a new project and my budget is low. What we need A UK-qualified solicitor, regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), to review three documents we have already drafted in plain English: - Privacy policy (16 pages) - Terms of use (6 pages) - Cookie notice (3 pages) About 24 points are already marked with yellow "Solicitor to check" tags, so you can see exactly where we need your view. The main areas are: - UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018: the lawful basis for special category data about children and other people that parents record (Article 9(2)(a) and Schedule 1 paragraphs 18 and 29), and whether we need an appropriate policy document. - International transfers for our service providers - Retention periods, and how we answer data requests. - Consumer law for a monthly or yearly subscription: the 14-day cancellation right for digital services, renewal wording, notice periods, limitation of liability, and VAT wording. - UK-only eligibility, governing law, and Scottish and Northern Irish consumers. - PECR: our cookie notice, and our email marketing consent. - A short check that our warning about family court documents is right for England and Wales. What we'd like back - Tracked changes or comments on the three documents. - A short list of anything we must fix before launch, kept separate from things that are nice to have. - A short draft of the appropriate policy document, if you think we need one.
