We are Harrow Online, an independent local news publisher covering Harrow and North West London. We need an experienced developer to create a professional, automated business directory generating recurring revenue through paid memberships and advertising packages linked to our Beehiiv newsletter. Claims should require appropriate verification and admin approval. Businesses should also be able to request corrections or removal. 3. Stripe Payments & Subscriptions We have a Stripe account ready for integration. We want: Monthly and annual subscription packages. Configurable pricing and membership benefits. Automatic recurring payments and renewals. Card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay where supported. VAT configuration, invoices and receipts. Customer billing portal. Automatic handling of cancellations and failed payments. Membership benefits linked to payment status. Admin dashboard showing subscriptions and revenue. The aim is to minimise manual administration. 4. Beehiiv Newsletter Integration – Essential This is the main commercial purpose of the project. We are launching a daily local news newsletter using Beehiiv. Paid directory packages will include business promotion within the newsletter, potentially monthly or quarterly depending on membership level. We need the directory to record each advertiser's promotional entitlement and ideally integrate with Beehiiv to supply featured businesses automatically. This could use RSS, API or another suitable solution. Requirements: Track newsletter advertising entitlements. Rotate or schedule eligible business promotions. Supply promotional content to Beehiiv. Allow admin approval and management. Track placements and clicks where possible. Keep ongoing manual work to a minimum. Please explain what is technically possible with Beehiiv and how you would implement it. The newsletter is being developed separately, so integration must be coordinated with that existing system. 5. Design & Administration The directory should match Harrow Online's red, black and white branding. We want a modern, attractive design with business categories, search, featured listings, membership pricing and customer dashboards. Administrators must be able to manage listings, claims, subscriptions, promotions and membership packages easily. We prefer WordPress or an established directory plugin rather than an expensive custom-built platform. The directory should be secure, fast and scalable, with no requirement to upgrade our existing Newspaper theme. 6. Hosting & Ownership Ideally, the directory should operate on our own subdomain. All data, website files, Stripe accounts and subscriptions must remain under our control. We want to keep ongoing monthly costs low.
