Excellent writer required - 12 hours per week- £21 per hour
*Price below is for first 5 hours, to see whether we work well together* I need a fantastic writer who can write primarily email marketing content, across two companies, and schedule it. Although this role is 90% email marketing, I am not necessarily looking for an experienced email marketer. I don't want someone who writes general sales-like content or any gimmicks. I am looking for someone who is a talented writer above all else. We can teach any email scheduling. Our work is in the therapy/neurodiversity/SEND space and so we need writing that is professional yet accessible and friendly. Most of our clients do not want emails trying to sell them a lifestyle, they are already interested and want to find out clear, concise information about the services we provide. They want to feel confident in our company and safe enough to entrust their child's wellbeing or their own therapeutic professional development to us. Our emails are designed to break down information in a clear way, and reassure potential clients that they are safe with us. Email marketing is our primary method of marketing and regular sales from emails are essential, rather than a small part of our company's success. Some of our free services for families of children with SEND are directly connected to sales from emails, so the more sales we have, the more services we can put on. As a result, I (the ceo) currently do all the email marketing, but this is no longer sustainable. I am looking to work with someone to hand over, over time, the email marketing. Speed is important; we don't need one perfect email, we need to schedule a large number across multiple lists each week. But, we already have a large library of previous email launches to use as templates. You will need to update and schedule these emails, then each week, add new emails from chatting to our team about what they have been up to or what common queries are coming up in discovery calls, and coming up with new concept/angle for an email. You may be scheduling 75% of emails with some slight amendments, and only writing around 25% from scratch. Some will be longer emails, but many might be a quick update with a photograph of what we have been up to that week. Being able to use Canva is a bonus. However, we already have lots of templates on Canva made that you can easily change wording/colours of, and we have a graphic designer available for more complicated projects. Hoping to work with someone over the long term. We have a small and friendly team and get to work on some lovely projects.
New website and online purchase through website
I seek a skilled web developer to design and develop an e-commerce enabled website for my environmentally conscious business. The site will be called www.bpglove.com and will allow customers to browse and purchase our premium biodegradable gloves online. The site should have a clean, minimalist design that emphasizes our commitment to sustainability. The homepage will feature product images and descriptions along with information about our green manufacturing process. A dedicated 'About Us' page will share our mission statement and values. In addition to viewing products, users must be able to add items to their cart, select shipment options, and checkout securely. The integrated payment system should support major credit cards. For each transaction, the backend must record order details for dispatch and inventory management. Administration tools are also required. Through a login, I need to upload new product photos and specs, manage stock levels, view past orders and customer details. Comprehensive analytics on site traffic and purchase behavior would aid future marketing efforts. Security and responsiveness are high priorities. The site must function flawlessly on both desktop and mobile devices. Your code will be expected to meet all relevant privacy and security standards. FX risk model in Excel, requires FX knowledge / risk management
I work for and represent Lumon, a UK-based corporate foreign exchange specialist. We assist UK corporate businesses in managing their foreign exchange (FX) risk through straightforward hedging strategies. Our primary tool is the use of vanilla forward contracts, which allow clients to hedge a portion of their forecasted FX exposure for future periods, typically ranging from 0 to 36 months. In simpler terms, for UK businesses, we provide solutions that both hedge their FX risk and facilitate the underlying payment, effectively converting one currency into another. I'm currently seeking someone with experience in both data modelling and foreign exchange/risk management. I will be able to provide five years' worth of historical market data to support the modelling task outlined below. As part of our service, we create bespoke risk management strategies tailored to our clients' specific needs. These strategies are based on several key factors: - **Currency pair**: Which currency pairs do they trade? For example, GBP/USD. - **Transaction direction**: Does the client sell GBP and buy USD, or the other way around? - **Annual exposure**: What is the total exposure per year? For instance, a client might need to purchase $12 million annually to settle invoices for goods sourced from China. - **Risk exposure**: What is their risk exposure, both historically and in the future? From a historical standpoint, we assess the past performance of the relevant currency pair. For example, GBP/USD may have traded between 1.32 and 1.20 over the past 12 months, representing roughly a 10% variance in cost. - **Hedge proportion**: What percentage of their annual exposure do they wish to hedge? For instance, some clients may opt to hedge 50% of their exposure for the upcoming 12 months, meaning they will forward-purchase $6 million at a fixed or variable rate. Others may only hedge 70% of the next six months' exposure, equating to forward-buying $4.2 million of their $6 million six-month exposure. I require an Excel-based model that incorporates historical FX data and integrates the factors listed above to help determine the optimal hedge level for each individual client, including back-testing functionality. **Example Scenario:** We have a client who purchases $12 million annually in USD but currently does not hedge their FX exposure. They are interested in exploring different hedging scenarios, which need to be visually represented—perhaps through line graphs or similar charts—to show the varying levels of risk they would assume based on different hedge ratios (the amount hedged at any given time). The model should allow me to adjust for the currency pair, the amount of annual exposure, and the client’s preferred hedge period (e.g., whether they wish to hedge for 3 months, 12 months, or 2 years). In this scenario, the model should answer questions such as: - **Impact of different hedge ratios**: What would the client’s exposure look like if they hedged only 50% of their annual exposure, compared to hedging 75%? How much risk would they be mitigating compared to relying solely on spot rates (the average daily rate over the period)? - **Shorter-term hedging**: What would the risk exposure be if they hedged for only six months, but at a higher hedge ratio? - **Back-testing**: The model must have the capability to back-test historical data and show how the chosen strategy would have performed over the previous year. - **Hedge rates**: The model should factor in the current hedge rate, which will serve as the starting exchange rate for any given hedging strategy. I have attached several example spreadsheets and past proposals to provide additional context regarding our service offering. These examples should help illustrate what we are aiming to achieve with the model.

Olive Oil Label for "The Devil's Village"
Brand/Company Name: The Devil’s Village Background: Devil’s Village is a family-owned business, deeply rooted in our olive oil grove located in Diavolitsi, a village whose name translates to "devilish" in English. We specialise in producing high-quality, extra virgin olive oil sourced from the renowned Kalamata region in Greece. Our brand reflects our family heritage and our dedication to tradition, but with a contemporary twist. We want the label to embody not only the premium quality of our olive oil but also the broader vision of our business. Beyond olive oil, we aim to expand into other local produce offerings, such as honey, herbs, and gourmet products from our region. Additionally, our business plans to grow into a lifestyle brand, offering travel information, accommodation recommendations, local restaurant guides, and olive oil tours in the Kalamata region. Color Scheme: Light Blue and Cream/White: The colors should reflect the shades of the Greek flag, symbolising our rich Greek heritage, local roots, and connection to the Mediterranean landscape. Design Elements: - Eve Depiction: Eve should be depicted in abstract line art form with subtle horns, symbolizing the theme of temptation. This imagery ties into the story of Eve and the forbidden fruit, with our olive oil representing the temptation of something pure, natural, and irresistible. - Style: Eve should be feminine and elegant, aligning with our identity as a woman-owned business. The abstract design should be simple, modern, and easily recognizable, ensuring that it translates well across all branding materials. - Brand Theme: The overall design should reflect the "Devil’s Village" theme. Eve will serve as the central figure representing the allure and temptation associated with our olive oil. We want this label to stand out while also connecting back to our heritage and values of quality and authenticity. - Product Name: The label should prominently display "Diavolitsi Extra Virgin Olive Oil" to ensure clarity and focus on the product. - Greek Spelling: Incorporate the Greek spelling of our product as ΔΙΑΒΟΛIΤΣΙ Extra Virgin Olive Oil on the label to enhance authenticity and further emphasize our roots in the Kalamata region. Future Vision for the Brand: While the initial label design is for our extra virgin olive oil, the designer should consider how the brand identity might expand into additional products and experiences. The brand needs to be adaptable to: - Other Local Produce: Such as honey, herbs, and gourmet products from our region. - Tourism and Experience Services: This includes travel information, accommodation recommendations, local restaurant guides, and guided olive oil tours. The label should represent not only the olive oil but a broader story of Greek hospitality, tradition, and the modern experiences we aim to offer. Label Dimensions: The design should fit standard olive oil bottle label dimensions (to be confirmed). Ensure the design accommodates different bottle shapes and sizes, as we may expand the product line with various packaging formats. Key Information: - The label should clearly communicate that the product is sourced from the Kalamata region of Greece. - Emphasize that the olive oil is of ‘premium quality’, ‘extra virgin’, and ‘cold-pressed’, showcasing the care and quality behind the production process. Additional Requirements: - The design must be elegant and eye-catching, making the product stand out on shelves and appealing to both local customers and international markets. - Ensure the label complies with regulatory labeling standards for olive oil (e.g., nutritional information, country of origin, and batch details) information TBC at a later stage. - Deliverables: Provide high-resolution files in all necessary formats (AI, PDF, PNG, etc.) for print and digital use. Inspirational Themes: - Greek heritage and mythology: Incorporate subtle elements that reflect Greece’s rich cultural history and natural beauty. - The story of Eve and the theme of temptation: Reinforce the notion of temptation in a refined and artistic way. - Feminine strength and elegance: Since this is a woman-owned business, the design should reflect empowerment and elegance without overpowering the product’s story. Additional Guidance: We look forward to seeing your creative interpretation of our brand and product. We would also appreciate your guidance on how our brand’s visual identity can evolve beyond this product. We want the design to grow with us as we expand into new product lines and offer experiences like olive oil tours, travel information, and curated recommendations for accommodations and local restaurants. This extended brief should guide the designer in creating a flexible, meaningful design that encompasses not only your current product but also your future business expansion into local experiences and produce.
