Line editor for non-fiction book about film
I'm looking for an experienced line editor, or two or three editors working in parallel, to help polish my next book. It is a data-led non-fiction guide to how part of the film business works. The first full draft is finished. The structure is settled, the research is done, and every figure and quotation has been checked against its source. The spelling is clean. Now it needs a good ear. I'd like the writing to: * read more naturally, more like one person talking to the reader; * lose any waffle, repetition or stiff phrasing; * keep a consistent tone from chapter to chapter. What the job is * A line edit for style, flow and concision. * Edits made in Track Changes in the Word files I send, with comments for anything you'd like me to decide. What the job isn't * Restructuring or developmental notes. The shape of the book is fixed. * Fact-checking. Figures, dates and quotations must stay exactly as they are. If something looks wrong, please leave a comment. * Proofreading for layout. That comes later. Practical details Length: about 150,000 words across 16 chapters, each standing on its own. Chapters range from about 5,000 to 25,000 words. British English, with a short style sheet that I'll provide. Who: I'm happy to work with one editor or to split the chapters between a few. If you can take the whole book, great. If you'd prefer a share, tell me how much. Timing: I'd like to start straight away, with chapters returned as you finish them, so I can work alongside you. Background: you don't need to know the film industry, but it would be a plus. In your proposal, please tell me: 1. Your price, for the whole book or per 10,000 words. Wayfinding and Asset Id Signage (& Labels, Asset Tags etc)
I run an industrial asset management consultancy and have ventured into the site signage and asset identification sector on this market to give our clients a tied together service. We are producing signage to be used in industrial plants, both in their production/ factory floors and in their offices & HQ areas. I currently have the supply partners I use do the artwork, but am looking at bringing this in house and developing a more standardised approach, also then allowing us to go to a wider net of printing suppliers while also maintaining ownership and control of the designs. I am looking for a reliable and highly skilled graphic designer to fill that gap. We have works in progress, won bids and bids to prepare for currently. This offshoot business is in its early stages but is currently winning work and the plan is for this to be ongoing work. All designs must be in Adobe Illustrator and strictly no purely Ai generated work. The jobs are predominantly print but there are digital projects in the pipeline (virtual tours and user interfaces for digital wayfinding)

I think I have an exeptionally sexy product, interesting for virtually anybody who lives in the city and has a small outside space. We redesign these into living space, built around the inhabitants and surrounded by lush green. My problem is getting in contact with the right audience which is impossibly hard. Why? Because my target audience is either unaware they have a problem (99% of ALL small outside in cities is boring/empty/uninteresting) hence they will not search for a solution, or they are aware of it and push it to the far away future 'it will be taken care of....once' This is really a pity, we are convinced that people who own a small outside space have gold in their hands, but are not aware of it. If a balcony, terrace, patio is well designed, it becomes the favorite place in the house and it changes the whole living experience. To test and keep improving our pipeline, we need real captures of monuments, statues and public structures from different places around the world. We're looking for people with a 360° camera (Insta360, DJI, Ricoh, etc.) to record a monument, statue or outdoor structure near where they live: a square, a park or another public space. The video is about 2 minutes long, in one continuous take while walking around the monument. It takes about 30 minutes in total and no 3D experience is needed. Just follow the attached capture guide, available in several languages. Accepted countries: Canada, Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland and Czech Republic.
