Scope of work - Establish the last reliable reconciled position and reconcile bank and credit-card accounts to statements, including checking the outstanding bank-feed queues. - Verify cash balances and investigate unreconciled entries. - Reconcile supplier accounts to statements and correctly allocate payments, credits, overpayments and part-payments. - Investigate duplicates and correct errors using supporting evidence. - Check customer balances and deposits, director loans, personal-card payments, intercompany balances and other material control accounts. - Establish the VAT treatment of historical corrections and liaise with our existing accountant where tax or prior-period adjustments need approval. - Retain a clear audit trail of all corrections.
