What you get with this Hourlie
1. conduct availability search.
2. prepare the filing based on your line drawings; CAD renderings or photographs..
3. make the application on your behalf.
The price does not include fees to the authorities or any disbursements charges. The official filing fee is £50 for one design prepared in online format.
My fee for conducting availability searches (one single design) on the relevant registers to determine potential risks is £60. This is included in my fee of £120 unless otherwise advised prior to commencement of work.
If the search results indicates, that your design may attract opposition or serious difficulties in the registration process, I reserve the right to not proceed with making the application. In such case your escrow funds will be returned to you (minus the fee for conducting the searches and reporting to you).
It is impossible for anyone to predict how the Registry and owners of existing designs will react to new applications. In the event of queries or objections to the registration of the design then these would cost extra to respond to. I shall give you a quote in case this happens.
I have been a qualified commercial lawyer for almost 25 years, and as such I am well-versed in the world of registered designs and other intellectual property rights.
I am recently retired and I now take on a limited amount of client work from my home as a freelancer.
