Make sure the target audience understands exactly what it is you’re selling and why it is right for them. But execute it creatively in a way that stops them in their tracks.
My Nikon ad is a classic example. Blatant Strategy: Nikon takes the world's greatest pictures. Surprising execution: The pictures are so famous, you don't need to show them to picture them in your head.
Experience: Pretty much every category that’s advertised. Started advertising life as a junior in the art studio of an ad agency in London; switched from art directing to writing. Moved to the U.S. working in Los Angeles and New York. Rose to Executive Creative Director, but most cherished title is still “copywriter.”
