Description
Experience Level: Expert
‘We are a young startup looking for a top class website developer to turn our designs into a beautiful and dynamic ecommerce website.’
A bit about you:
You need to be a UK based web developer with plenty of web design/development experience and an impressive online portfolio to back it up – we’re not interested in anyone who intends to learn along the way.
Your knowledge and experience will enable you to recommend and advise us of the best development route to successfully deliver our site. It could be wordpress, html5, drupal etc………you tell us – you’re the expert. We want simplicity, style and top class UX.
You must be able to work efficiently and remotely, an added bonus (but not essential) would be the opportunity to meet up in person in the early stages. We find face-to-face discussions are much more constructive and creative rather than faceless emails or skype. We are based in London, but are able to travel.
The Brief:
- The site is an ecommerce website selling a range of customizable items
- Based on the same principle as ‘flexiracks.co.uk/athome’, the price will update each time an option is changed. However, at this stage we do not need a flash applet that lets users drag and move etc. A static image with tickbox/drop down menus is all that is required. Sounds simple but it has to be slick and beautiful.
- The ecommerce system will use a highly integrated and secure payment platform; you’ll recommend the best options.
- A member area will enable users to save customized items with the option to return and purchase at a later date.
- The cms system will allow us to create new item ranges in the future without the need to employ a web developer.
- The site needs to be lightning fast – any ecommerce site that thinks too long is a waste of time.
- SEO is a given. You must make sure the site is fully optimized so we always feature in the hallowed google top 5.
A bit about us:
We have a background in creative design, highly experienced in most of the adobe creative suite. We will provide the majority of the front-end graphics and design - however we still want your help and input to create the best site possible. To get the ball rolling we’ve put together a number of key screenshots showing the site look and layout that will be available to the chosen developer.
In terms of a timescale, we want this site to be up and running as soon as possible, but the final deadline will be discussed and agreed by both parties following discussion on full scale and scope of work.
Finally, we intend to develop a number of other websites after this - so we hope this working relationship could be the start of something beautiful. Impress us now and we would love nothing more than to carry on working with you.
That’s everything; we look forward to hearing from you so we can get this project moving. Feel free to ask us any questions about anything we may have missed or anything you want to know.
