Cornwall, GBDuring initial development the response was good and quick. Later, as we were fault-fixing and making final changes, it slowed down.
Did we get good value for our £500? I guess so.
Am I fully happy? Not really.
I'm probably spoilt by my usual coder but my expectations about how the site (a WP theme) would be written, constructed and delivered weren't met.
My assumption was that I would receive a set of files installable as a theme (with plug-ins or additional theme files) and that the code would make use of standard WP functions and follow standard WP coding practice. This would make the variable parts of the theme (particularly menu items) easily editable through the WP interface. I didn't expect so much custom code that only I or my coder could change, and not the client - nor to find custom code sitting in the main WP directory.
I've learnt that if I'm going to get this kind of job done again, I need to be VERY specific in my requirements and not assume that everyone shares my view about how things should be done and that is 'standard' within WP web sites. -
