Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I have a MS Access database used to keep track of copy machine meter readings and customer billing. It is 99% complete but has 2 small issues in the final report which is preventing me from using it.
The data base is set up with a main "1Customer" table, a "1 Machines" table and a "Meternew" table. data for all tables are entered in a single "1Customer" form with an embedded "1Machine" subform and a "Meterreading form" subform embedded in the "1 Machine" form.
Queries are used to filter the data needed for the customer billing report. Subqueries are used to filter the data by dates. The querys and subquerys report are then used to generate the report.
I have 2 problems. First is each customer's machine has 2 fields that determine the date to be billed. The report works fine if both fields are the same dates, but if different dates are enetered in each filed the customer is billed erroneously for both dates.
The other problem is that we use the last 2 meter readings recorded in Meternew table to determine how many copies the customer ran on their copy machine. The report works fine unless you eneter the same meter reading number 2 o rmore times in a row (as when the customer did not use the machine during that time). If the same meter readings are entered the report does not compute the number of copies ran but instead prints the duplicate meter readings.
I had a company in India working on it doing a very good job but the lady how was assigned the project has become ill and can not finish it.
