InDesign Training Manual Layout & Formatting

I’m looking for an experienced InDesign designer to continue working from an existing InDesign file and add the content from a Word document into the manual.

The InDesign file has already been started, so I would like the designer to continue using the existing style, fonts, colours, layout direction and overall look of the document. The content will be provided in a Word document, which is currently 16 pages long. However, the text is quite spaced out in Word, so I am not sure exactly how many pages this will become once properly laid out in the training manual.

For this reason, I am looking for someone who can quote for the complete project rather than charging per finished page.

There are also images available in a separate Word document, which can be used within the manual where appropriate.

I need someone with a good eye for design, not just someone who can copy and paste text into InDesign. The manual needs to look professional, neat and well-spaced, with proper formatting, consistent styling, and good use of design judgement. It is important that the finished document looks like a polished training manual, rather than a basic text-heavy document.

The successful freelancer will need to:

- Continue working from the existing InDesign file
- Add and format all content from the Word document
- Use the existing fonts, colours and design style
- Add images from a separate Word document where suitable
- Ensure the layout is clean, professional and easy to read
- Use initiative with spacing, headings, image placement and overall presentation
- Provide the completed original InDesign file back at the end of the project
- Provide any linked files, fonts or packaged assets needed so the file can be edited later if required

Please quote for the full project, not per page, as the final page count is not yet confirmed.

I am looking for someone reliable, detail-focused and experienced in layout/design. I have had previous projects where the work was too basic and did not meet the required standard, so please only apply if you are confident you can produce a professional, polished manual and use design initiative to make the pages look varied and interesting using design elements.

I need this finished within 10 days absolute maximum for a deadline.

There may also be two further training manuals to complete after this project, so I would ideally like to work with someone who is available for ongoing work if this first manual goes well.
