Past "Betfair" Projects
Extract data from compressed .tar file to Excel
I would like to analyse greyhound racing results from Betfair. Betfair provide the means to download the results in what I believe to be a compressed .tar file holding the results from June-Sept 2023. I have tried to follow their instructions as to how to extract the data using 7zip (see attached) and then their historical data https://www.betfairhistoricdata.co.uk/ to convert it all into Excel in a format that would allow me to analyse the results data - specifically the race distance, race class/type, the BSP (Betfair Starting Price) of the winner etc. - but it seems to be beyond my skills! Is this something you could help with? And If so, please can you confirm the cost and expected turnaround? Thanks, David

Live Betfair Odds Comparison Spreadsheet
1. I would like someone to find a way to import live odds from Betfair into a spreadsheet (can be Excel or Google Sheets). I understand that I might need to pay for an API key or software that can do this. 2. I would then like to export the data from this website into that spreadsheet: https://www.sports-ai.dev/predictions 3. Then I would like the spreadsheet to be able to compare the both the live odds from Betfair against the odds from the Sports-AI website and show the percentage difference. This must be fairly easy to use.

Excel VBA program for Bet Angel
First of all this task involves a gambling site, just be aware of that. You will need a Betfair account and copy of BetAngel (can be run in practice mode) - Ill supply the daily codes for use. Bet angel produce a spreadsheet that they require you to use when using excel or VBA, I can supply this, on this spread sheet it supplies you with all of figures/prices required for the task, it has been populated with the commands you can use at the top. I can guide you when attaching the spreadsheet to the main betangel program. With betangel you can use a bookmakers feature, all Lay bets will be placed on the Back side and will consequently not be taken immediately, when the price moves out (against you) I need this program to; Eg current lay bet is 10 at £5 Cancel the current bet (Bet angel have a command for that) green cells in column 'O' need to be cleared recaluate the new bet, price go up by 5% (10.5) then the bet offer is reduce by 5% £4.75, green cells in column 'O' need to be cleared. New Lay bet is offered at the new price, 10.5 @ £4.75, green cells in column 'O' need to be cleared. Now the bet is made, betangel spreadsheet has a weird habit of marking in a column O with 'OK' or other report this needs to be removed as betangel will not accept any further bets on that horse and snarl up the entire process. The VBA program needs to loop around the spreadsheet monitoring the entire field again and again until the all the bets have been filled. Betangel have excellent online support, instruction manual and numerous Youtube videos and ive attached a copy of the spreadsheet I mentioned

I need help understanding the betfair API - I want to use python
betfair have an api which can be used to read information about various markets (football, horse racing etc.), for retrieving form data (e.g. horse form, football club recent form), for placing bets, for checking results, checking your balance etc. For my own personal use, I would like to create a simple python script which can place stakes on various events. I am new to python, but I do have experience with other languages and scripts. Online help for the betfair api seems sketchy to me, but you can find some information here: https://docs.developer.betfair.com/display/1smk3cen4v3lu3yomq5qye0ni/Getting+Started and I found this page very useful: https://towardsdatascience.com/an-introduction-to-betfair-api-and-how-to-use-it-e3cdbd79c94b I have been able to reproduce what "Jamie Blair" (author of the above link) did using python and Visual Studio Code - but I don't really know how to take the next step. I will be connecting to an MS SQL DB, which I have managed to do, and I will perform as much of the logic as I can in T-SQL (as I am perfectly comfortable with this). I need help with the following defs (by help I mean someone to do it so I can copy), no doubt there will be other defs I will need too ... 1) Find next horse race, football match, whatever 2) Find the runners / teams etc. 3) get current odds, and form data - sort by whatever metric I choose, e.g. handicap weight, last result, current odds 4) place bet 5) retrieve result after the event (i.e. the profit loss) <- this is made slightly more complex because it has to allow for the possibility of an event being voided (e.g. "rain stopped play" or a horse pulling out of the race at the last moment). You will need to have a betfair account to do this (as I am obviously not giving you my details), I suspect you can open it with just £10 or so. (If you look online you will probably be able to find a "new customer sign-up bonus". Many people use the betfair api, some for their own, personal use (as I will) and some that do it for commercial reasons - you may have better luck finding help online that I have ... For anyone who is unfamiliar with the betfair api this may seem like a lot to do, but for anyone who knows it well I suspect this is a very simple task. Note: I would have preferred to chose an hourly-rate, but the Ts & Cs suggest I could get really stung with this route, so I have chosen a fixed-price amount.
Import live data from WilliamHill and betfair
I wish to import the live odds, of horses / gray hounds into matlab with a refresh rate of max 0.5seconds. Then have real time graphics updating comparing the two sites.

Football betting bot
- Looking for someone that has experience creating betfair bots and also who can build an automated program that can read betting tips from a certain website. - On this website, you can create different strategies (with different names) and receive a notification when your criteria is met for a certain football match. What I need is the automated program to check the website regularly for new tips/notifications and the betfair bot to be programmed to bet accordingly, as soon as you receive a new notification/tip. There's a page on the site where you keep receiving all the recent tips/notifications by text --> image 1 - On the automated program you should be able to: a) write/insert new notifications/strategy names and be able to bet simultaneously on at least 16 different strategies. b) implement an auto go off betting mode, in case you receive ≥ x notifications with the same name during the last minute. This because once in a while (very rarely) the site can have a problem on the database and start pushing too many tips/notifications --> that notification/strategy then should only be back on betting mode if you manually choose to. c) have an option to choose the market in which the betfair bot should bet on, in function of the strategy/notification name --> available options should be between match odds, over x.5 goals and under x.5 goals. d) have an option to choose if you want to back or lay the market, in function of the strategy/notification name. e) have an option to choose the stake% which you want to invest on a bet in fuction of the notification/strategy. Stake = x% betfair bot balance f) have an option to choose the maximum back/lay ratio that can exist between the back and lay price on the same market, on which the bet will be placed. back/lay ratio = [(1 ÷ odd back) - (1 ÷ odd lay)] x 100% g) have an option to choose for how much time (seconds) should the betfair bot keep betting, until the totality of the stake is invested. h) have an option (yes or no) to every notification/strategy, in order to choose if you want to condition the odd price correspondent to your bet/investment --> if yes is chosen, then another option are available, to select the minimum ratio needed between the current betfair price and the notification/strategy price, in order for the bet to be valid. betfair/notification ratio = [(1 ÷ odd notification) - (1 ÷ odd betfair)] x 100% i) see the program errors on a log. - Betfair bot should: a) be programmed to automaticly place bets according to every option mentioned above and below. b) detect on which x.5 goal (over or under) market the bet will be placed in function of the GL(goal line) number, present on the notification text --> see image 2 for examples GL = x, x.25, x.5 or x.75 --> bet should always be placed on the correspondent x.5 market examples: if GL = 2.75 then x = 2 --> bet on 2.5 goals market if GL = 3.25 then x = 3 --> bet on 3.5 goals market if GL = 2 then x = 2 --> bet on 2.5 goals market c) detect on which team the bet have to be placed (in case of a match odds bet) in function of which is the lowest odd present under the numbers 1 and 2, on the notification text --> see image 3 for examples - The freelancer must agree that I'm the rights owner of the automated program and it's code, and also has to deliver me the code on an open source so I can modify it on the future if I need to. - I will be available everyday between 16:00-02:00 GMT time, to help answering any question that might come up to you while working on this project.

Betdaq api
Simple first project (more to follow) to retrieve a price from betdaq's api. Betdaq is much the same as betfair, they provide a wsdl file - http://api.betdaq.com/v2.0/API.wsdl - which you can use to generate the member functions. I believe the one you need is GetPricesRequest. Code is to be written in Java (Eclipse) and run on a Windows 10 Pro machine.

I need data extracted from a website and put into excel
I am looking to build a spreadsheet that contains the Betfair Starting Price (BSP) of every horse in each race ideally going back to April 2015. Betfair is a gambling exchange website, and they also have a historic data website that will provide for free the data, but it is downloaded in a “tar” file, this would need to be downloaded, and then put into an excel file to obtain what I need. Alternatively, the Timeform webiste also publishes this data and I understand that it is possible to scrape the website for the information I need. If you were able to scrape the Timeform website, I could provide a excel template for the prices to be put into, it would simply be the BSP by finishing position in each race. I am not sure which way is easier, I don’t mind how it is done as long as I can obtain the race information with the betfair starting prices for each horse against their finishing position. I hope this makes sense, if you are able to help, please get in contact.

Betfair - Automated trading software.
Betfair Football Trading We have a ruleset with variables which we hope will result in successful trading method using online betting exchanges. We are primarily focused on the Betfair API. There are three active modes required: Search & Log Searches for football games starting within fifteen minutes and checks them against our criteria. If a game meets the requirements we would like to log the events during the game, including - date, teams, starting odds, timestamps for: goals, red cards, and odds for favourite/non-favourite and correct score markets odds. The variables of the criteria should be savable as a profile, and logs should be filtered by whichever profile was active at the time the log was saved. Search, Log & Paper-trade Same as Search & Log but with the addition of virtual paper trading the live game according to set rules, with an automated cash out prior to game end when a criteria has been met. Search, log & live trade This is the scary one - Live trading the game via the Betfair API using funds from the users account. Budget is ballpark.
