Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: We provide vehicle contract leases
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Num. of web pages/modules: One module
Description of every page/module: I need a Wordpress plugin written to add / remove / hide select menu items dependent on the the user input on-the-fly. It needs to work for Desktop Safari, Mobile Safari and Internet Explorer as these browsers do not support hiding select menu items via CSS.
The plugin needs to remove "option disabled="disabled"" menu items dependent on the user input. Most likely written with jQuery.
Description of requirements/features: I need a Wordpress plugin written to add / remove / hide select menu items dependent on the the user input on-the-fly.
So the following is what we already have:
So we have a filtered search widget the helps the user find search results by vehicle make and model. For instance when the user selects a vehicle make from the left-hand select menu i.e 'Mercedes' then the right hand select menu propegates with Mercedes model categories i.e A Class, C Class, E Class etc. When the user selects a model and hits the search buttton then they are redirected to a search results page for that make and model of vehicle.
The problem is that when the user selects the vehicle make i.e. Mercedes, the model dropdown is still populated with all vehicle makes and not just mercedes. This probelm is evident in Safari, Internet Explorer and most importantly Safari Mobile. Apparently Safari doesnt not support the removal or hiding of "option disabled="disabled"" items via CSS.
We want a plugin to remove all the "option disabled="disabled"" items and the reintruction of all items and removal of a fresh set of items if a user chooses another vehicle make without refeshing the page.
The plugin must follow best WordPress standards and practises such as enqueing any 3rd party libraries such as jQuery libraries. This solution most improtantly must work on iphone.
Specific technologies required: Javascript, JQuery, Ajax, WordPress, Safari, Safari Mobile
Similar urls: www.contractcars.com
