This person approached me for help regarding some help creating a VBA code in Excel. I gave him the sample code for free in order to help him. Then he wanted me to do the entire code as he wasn't able to do it himself. So he offered me a fixed cost job for a small amount. I produced exactly what he required within few minutes because of my excellent VBA skills. He confirmed that the code works but he wanted it to apply for other files in different formats. I tried to explain him that the code is specific to the file he provided and cannot be used for unknown file formats. So I asked him for the file but he refused to share it stating that he cannot do it because of confidentiality reasons.
I am at a total loss here. I wasted my precious time over such a small and straightforward job and damaged my reputation without any reason but I'll continue prove my skills and abilities to all my future clients by providing them excellent work as I did previously before landing to this job.
