SolidWorks 3D model from ship blueprints (PDF) → laser-cut
Experience Level: Expert Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks I need an experienced SolidWorks CAD designer to recreate an 86m inland vessel (scale 1:60) from scanned PDF shipyard drawings, including the hull lines plan. Goal: produce a laser-cut plywood model kit (tabs/slots) with a frame/bulkhead hull structure for accurate hull shape. Outer appearance should be realistic; internal structure should be strong. The model will become RC, so include space for battery/components (rough layout is enough). Required Output • SolidWorks Parts (.SLDPRT) for all components • SolidWorks Assemblies (.SLDASM) with logical sub-assemblies • 2D DXF exports (laser-cut ready) for all wooden parts • Part numbering for laser engraving (to prevent build mistakes) Critical Requirements • Hull frames match the lines plan accurately • Parametric thickness control: • Longitudinal spine thickness adjustable • All cross frames thickness adjustable via one parameter • All slots update automatically • Must be done in milestones with 3–4 review checkpoints for feedback SolidWorks for “professional use” or “for makers” is fine either way. Read-check (mandatory): How many years of SolidWorks experience do you have, and do you have experience with wooden kits OR ship drawings/lines plans? Create a super simple example (in Solid Works) based on the line plan in the attachment. Do this for 3 or 4 frames and then add the skin over them. Add the assembly and parts to your offer. If this is not done, I will not consider your proposal. A few drawings have been added as examples. The rest will be shared once the assignment has been finalized.

Clean rebuild of working 3D prototype into production-ready CAD
I’m looking for an experienced CAD engineer or product designer to take my existing 3D design files and rebuild them properly from scratch, ready for production in metal. Background • I designed all parts myself and have already validated the functionality by 3D printing and physical testing • Everything works, but the CAD files are crude and not production-ready • Tolerances are largely guesswork • Parts were developed iteratively by adding and removing features, so many models are a hodgepodge rather than clean parametric designs What I need • Recreate all parts cleanly in a professional CAD system • Apply sensible, engineering-grade tolerances suitable for CNC machining in aluminium • Produce fully constrained, parametric models • Assemble parts where appropriate to check fit and function • Deliver clean STEP (STP) files suitable for manufacture Workflow • I would want to 3D print the rebuilt parts first to validate everything before committing to metal • Expect some iteration after first review/print • I can supply existing STL/STEP files, photos, and functional explanations Ideal candidate • Strong mechanical CAD experience (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, Creo, or similar) • Comfortable designing for CNC machining in aluminium • Able to think like an engineer, not just redraw geometry • Experience rebuilding rough prototypes into production-ready designs Please reply with • Brief overview of your relevant experience • CAD software used • Examples of similar “prototype to production” work This is a serious engineering tidy-up rather than a simple file conversion, and I’m looking for someone who enjoys turning working prototypes into elegant, manufacturable designs. Next steps Once I’ve reviewed responses and shortlisted suitable candidates, I will ask for a simple NDA to be signed before sharing any detailed files, drawings, or samples.

I am developing a wearable LED headband with a continuous, sparkler-style moving light effect. The mechanical design (SolidWorks / STEP) is fully completed and locked. This project is strictly focused on electronics and embedded firmware — no mechanical design, web, or mobile work. The goal is to implement a high-quality LED animation engine on a microcontroller (ESP32 or equivalent) that produces smooth, continuous motion around a 360° addressable LED ring (~72 LEDs). The animation must use fractional (sub-pixel) position tracking and brightness blending across adjacent LEDs — visible LED-to-LED stepping is not acceptable. Scope of Work: • Develop embedded C/C++ firmware for addressable LEDs (WS2812B / SK6812 or equivalent) • Implement continuous 360° motion with one or more moving “sparks” • Use floating-point or fixed-point math to blend brightness between adjacent LEDs • Create smooth trailing glow and subtle flicker (sparkler-style behavior) • Match motion speed and feel to provided reference visuals • Ensure clean, efficient, well-commented firmware suitable for manufacturing Deliverables: • Firmware source code • Short demo video showing slowed-down motion that clearly demonstrates sub-pixel interpolation • Brief explanation of animation logic and LED indexing • Optional: guidance on MCU/LED selection if needed Out of Scope: • Mechanical CAD • PCB layout • Mobile apps or cloud connectivity This project requires experience with embedded systems, microcontroller programming, and addressable LED animation. Please do not apply if your background is primarily web or mobile development.

Point cloud to
Looking for assistance with converting an interior lazer scan to a 3d model and a few over all 2d CAD drawings. For this project I need the point cloud turned in to a simple model. Walls, floors, HVAC, electrical, and the other infrastructure picked up in reasonable accuracy. As for the boat in the middle of the dry dock, I just need the outside of the hull, the supports are not important, but would be nice if you think they can be done quick. Omit any of the art, furniture or information panels. I can provide site videos and photos if you need reference that isn't in the scan. As for the software and drawings. The Architect likes to use sketch-up and we like to use more Engineering friendly software (civil 3d, bricscad, Solidworks, Onshape, etc). We are primarily focused on the 3D model since we need it for adding in the structure and the HVAC and energy analysis, so I think a universal format would be best unless you have some suggestions. Any of the 2D drawings are very high level and simple. Here is the link for the project point cloud (still pretty messy but the bulk is there) files I have included a .rcp & .e57. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/116lN9uwQ65XInnJ6smw6GfaqsOM1v0OR?usp=sharing We are hoping to form a long term relationship were we can provide you with more work of this type and engineering type. I will reply your other message about those projects too. Let me know what you think and how long you might take. We are ok to stagger the process, overall structure first so we can use the design to run our analysis, then focus on the details after.
