Nickel Support is not-for-profit community interest company supporting adults with learning disabilities, with a particular focus on employment.
We are looking a grant writer for a specific project, as we do not currently have enough time to complete this work due to other exciting projects coming up. Normally bid writing is undertaken in house, but time is of a premium, hence the reason for contacting of 'People Per Hour'. We would see it as a collaborative process, but we expect the majority of the work to be undertaken by the grant writer, including the budgetary requirements.
We have a number of micro enterprises within our organisation (up-cycling, soft furnishings and preserves) and any profits generated are used to employ people with learning disabilities. They are all growing and, although this is very exciting, it does need someone to manage them full time. We are therefore applying to 'Henry Smith', a charitable trust, for this and a couple of other roles, including a support worker and driver.
The application process involves involves completing a series of forms on an online portal. I have attached an example of the application for your information, along with the guidance. The second part of the process is a visit from the grant funder and therefore it is important the style of the application is appropriate to this. We would provide information on the questions in note form, with the grant writer to flesh out and undertake more technical research work, including the completion of a budget.
There is no specific time limit, but we are hoping to complete this application by the end of November. With regards to cost of the project we have flexibility, but as this is the first time we have used 'People Per Hour' we are not completely sure of where to pitch the price and whether it works better as a 'per hour' or 'fixed price' project. Please feel free to make suggestions.
If this process is successful we would potentially have other 2/3 projects lined up imminently.
Thank you for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you to delve a little further.
