Description
Experience Level: Expert
I am looking for a web designer/programmer to build a local tennis leagues website with online player registration, submission of match results, and updating league tables. The project will require good front-end design skills to ensure the website looks professional and good back-end skills for the database functions.
The tennis leagues will function as follows: potential players will register online, specifying their local area, and completing a player questionnaire. They then have the option of ‘subscribing’ for the next scheduled ‘round’ in their area (each round lasts about two months). Subscribed players are then manually put into similar ability groups of 6-8 players. At the beginning of each round players in groups are given all players’ contact details and asked to arrange matches (standard best of 3 sets with tie-break at 6-6 in each set) with all other players within the scheduled time period. The winning player submits each match result (and comments) via an online submission facility: results feed into the online league table and match results (and comments) are displayed.
As this format suggests, the website will need a ‘MemberZone’ area for registered players. The database will need to manage ‘live’ areas where leagues are currently running and registered players will either be ‘active’ ie playing in a league or ‘dormant’ ie registered but not currently playing. It will also need to manage ‘dormant’ areas awaiting sufficient numbers of registered players to schedule a ‘round’. The database will also need to manage automatic email reminders to invite registered players to subscribe to forthcoming rounds.
The website will include a number of publically-accessible pages, including a drop-down list of area ‘Leagues’ linking to a page giving area-specific info on public courts available and displaying current league tables. This local page must be set up to allow display of Google Maps. Other pages will include, ‘How it Works’, ‘FAQs’, ‘About Us’ and ‘Contact’.
I am looking for a professional-looking website with consistent style and colour branding across the site. Photos and logo will be provided if needed. At present I like this WP slider theme template: http://ow.ly/ar6C6
Designers are welcome to build the site using a CMS platform and accompanying plug-ins or build it from scratch using html, php, mysql etc.
The job must be completed to the satisfaction of the client within four weeks of award of the contract. Please do not bid if you are planning to do the job alongside a full time job.
Bids are welcome for the complete package of work OR either front-end (website design) or back-end (database) tasks.
Proposals must specify overall approach for the project, technical solutions proposed and their advantages, and milestones and phases of delivery for the project.
Budget: £800- £1800
