Hi Brian
Does your site has different domains for different pages? That mean are there more than one websites to design? -
n you please tell me your current website address please?

Hello,
It is still available?Brian H.28 Oct 2016Yes

I'm not sure what you mean by "edit it with Dreamweaver" as it is a text editor that can edit anything. But i think that you'd be better off in cleaning up the site and making it responsive instead of adding a 2nd site. This would be a lot easier to maintain and would cost you less in the long term. Maybe you are interested in that instead?

Hi Brian. All sounds a bit 90's really. Dreamweaver butchers html. Having 2 distinct websites: mobile & desktop (with code to serve one or the other) is a strange way of doing things. Having a site built using a mobile responsive css framework e.g. bootstrap, with possibly a backend cms such as WordPress, is certainly a more contemporary solution. Thanks Stephen ( Lancs UK)
Brian H.28 Oct 2016Sorry, that's beyond me.
Stephen B.28 Oct 2016Hi Brian. Apologies. I'll try and break it down. Modern websites are, or should be, scalable. i.e. fit to whatever they're being viewed on, whether that is a smartphone, tablet, laptop or larger display. This is responsive design. The older method was to have a website for larger displays and then a specific website for mobile displays. Which one was shown dependent on what it was viewed on. It's inefficient. Responsive web design has superceded this. Modern web browsers and standards allow efficient design of themes/templates which adapt to the display they're viewed on. I suggested a CMS (content management system) as a way of maintaining the website and providing a consistent look & feel throughout the site. WordPress is such a CMS and popular. Hope that helps. Stephen

Daniel R.28 Oct 2016Hi Brian,
Thank you for sending that across. Looking at the website, this is something I can do for you. However I was just wondering, have you thought about making your website responsive and coming away from a mobile site? This will work better for you in terms of SEO, and the overall feel as I know you want it closer to your main website.
This way, you will be able to edit just your desktop site and it will automatically update on mobile too as users will be seeing the same site but just condensed to look nice on smaller devices.
I can put this into a simple CMS for you so you won't have to use dreamweaver, you can just update and add content as and when you need it.
I can offer you a couple of options.
- Firstly, if you want to keep your mobile site seperate, I can come up with a solution to make this closer to the main site
- I can re-build your website (with the existing design) and make this responsive and put it into a CMS for you (to update your content as and when you need to)
- Or, I can re-design and develop your website for you.
I look forward to hearing from you Brian.
Many thanks,
Dan -
