Description
I need a script that will delete certain unwanted data in Column A and replace it with what I need. In addition, if there is no data to delete I need it to simply add on to the existing data. It's very important that it skips any cell within that column, that does NOT have data.
Ex. 123 Main, DA I would want the "DA" removed and add " , Dallas, TX"
Ex. 123 Main I would want it too add ", Dallas, TX"
I will need a drop down menu to select what I want inputted into each cell, between a few choices.
1. , Dallas, TX
2. , Fort Worth, TX
3. , Arlington, TX
Looking for a clean UI, as I will be adding tools like this in the future, as they are needed and want them kept in one location.
It's important that you understand Microsoft's weaknesses, which are plenty I know, but you should know how to work with it. I will NOT accept a Macro, Python or anything with Java in it's name. Have that now and it's been a disaster, twice. If it was my choice it would be VB. It's also important to know that I currently have a VPS running Windows 2008 Server, I cannot upgrade with my current host, but will be looking at other hosts at some point. For now, it's 2008 Server.

Hi Jeff,
this seems something that could be quickly sorted but I would need to have a look to the original excel file to better understand what you are requesting.
Could you sand it over?
Thanks,

Hi Jeff,
You say that you will not accept macros but then go on to say that, if it was your choice, you would use VB: macros and VB are one and the same.... -
Morning Jeff,
Could I see a good sample of data please. I'm sure this is going to require slightly more thought than your description implies. For example, if there is only a house number and street will it always be Dallas, TX as the generated result?
Let me see some real data and I'll get back to you with additional queries or work a solution.

For the dropdown from which you manually select the choices, will this be a one-off selection so that applies to all the records and update that column the same for every one? Presumably you don't want a user selection for each record in the sheet - but are there any other conditions?
