Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks
We are looking for a Wordpress website. The design may be re-used over several sites if proven successful.
Because of our business model, two thirds of people who see us in the search results do not visit the website as they get the information they need from the page title or Meta description (It's a phone number to call). The other third who do visit the website do not travel around as again they usually find the information they need on the page they land on.
This is not about having a pretty website. It is about having a website that performs well in SERPS and gives any visitors the shortest possible route to a telephone number. Most people do not visit these type of sites because the number they want is published in the page title and Meta description. Having said that, we do need a design that looks professional and at least as good as our nearest competitor.
The website needs the least possible amount of coding and the different elements need compressing or whatever other techniques work best to ensure a fast load speed.
It needs to be as close to possible to W3C validation. Not for SEO particularly but just to ensure best practice.
The navigation around the site should be as short as possible
The meat of the pages navigation/content should be as close to the top of the pages as possible. The homepage will have a short introduction and then go immediately into the navigation.
The site needs G+, Facebook and Twitter buttons linking to our account. We will set up these account.
The internal pages should have a simple to use template. All our pages promoting various telephone numbers will have 500-600 words of content in 2/3 paragraphs headed by and tags. They will have an appropriate image, an embedded YouTube video and a Google map of the head office of the company we are targeting. The page template needs to look elegant and be as easy as possible to populate by our team.
For every page we load, there will be an article written and put on the website pointing at that page and out to the website of the business whose phone number we are featuring.
The pages need the ability for people to ‘Facebook like’ ‘Google + share’ and ‘Twitter re-tweet’
We need navigation tabs to Terms, Privacy Policy, Contact and About Us
We need a sitemap that works and is displayed the same way as the competitor. The sitemap needs uploading to Google and Bing webmaster tools.
It needs plugins that enable SEO(Yoast)and redirects 404 pages to the homepage or pages of our choice. Any other plugins that increase performance would be considered.
We need an RSS feed
We need a favicon
Again, this is not about the prettiest design. It is about a website that, given the best hosting, performs well in SERPS because of page layout, speed of load time and short navigation paths. We have our own in-house team that will take care of SEO and so ongoing promotion is not part of the equation.
We will shortlist to two respondents and you will be expected to sign a non-disclosure agreement before we offer more information.
