Hello, my name is Rhys, and I'm reaching out to experienced business professionals and marketers for some advice regarding a video concept I'm working on.
The Concept:
The video centres around a blogger who shares their personal journey and lessons learned from blogging. The main objective is to empower new bloggers and help them avoid common mistakes many make when starting out. It’s also designed to encourage community participation by involving the readers, adding value, and creating a space for shared learning.
The Structure Dilemma:
I’m considering two potential ways to structure the video and would love your feedback. Here’s the question:
• Option 1: Start the video with the blogger telling their story first, setting the tone for the video.
• Option 2: Begin with the 2 reader testimonials (who’ve already given me permission to share their stories), and then have the blogger share their story afterward.
The reason I’m leaning toward including the reader testimonials up front is because it could serve as social proof, showing that others are willing to share their experiences, which might inspire new viewers to engage and feel comfortable enough to contribute their own stories. Additionally, it could help create a sense of community from the get-go.
I’m particularly interested in your insights on which option would work better for building confidence among readers and boosting engagement. Also, if you have any reasoning or tips for structuring community-focused content, I’d love to hear them!
If you have experience in business, marketing, or content creation and feel you can provide valuable insight, please feel free to apply.
