Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
Information for the business: Community Theatre Company
Industry: Entertainment
Type of logo: Word mark, Letter form, Abstract mark, Pictorial mark, Emblem
Brand name/slogan in logo: Excavate (see also notes, below)
Ideas for the visual style: See notes
Things to avoid: See notes
Where the design will be used: Print / web
Extra notes: We would like to commission a logo design based on the following information:
Excavate is a community theatre company that engages with people to celebrate and commemorate their heritage, their history and the stories of the places where they live and work. We create ambitious performances that are put on in non-theatre venues with community performers, often involving large numbers of people. We are also diversifying to create films, installations and other associated work, but with heritage and identity at the core.
Our logo could reflect the creative nature of the company but should be clear.
Excavate has two meanings – diggers and quarries / archaeology and careful delving into the past. We are keen for the logo not to reflect one of these more than the other.
The logo could be colour but a version of it should also work in black and white, for day-to-day use (invoices etc.)
The company is called Excavate. The logo should also include the words Community Theatre Events (but not necessarily as a sentence).
Our clients tend to be local councils and organisations in the heritage sector.
