Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I need a logo for a new movement: 50 Challenges. You can find out all about what it is at our current website: www.50challenges.org. If you read this website, you will understand that it is a movement for people approaching 50 and beyond to encourage them to define the next chapter of their lives positively, celebrating that it is our time to think, our time to act, our time to be. It is really important that you read the website, because that is where the brief for the design and concept is!
You will also see that we already have a logo; this was designed a year ago, when I was first progressing 50 Challenges from a personal idea into a wider concept, and I was very focused on the tick boxes of achieving challenges - so that's what the logo is: it's like a Boy Scouts badge or a swimming badge. What people are connecting with about 50 Challenges is the emotion and the journey; 50 is a key transitional time for both men and women in a way that 30 or 40 aren't. Other roles that have been dominant in our lives recede and we are left with a big question: what/who am I, now that I am no longer primarily a parent/bread winner? So, what I am looking for is a logo that conveys they emotion, the journey, the celebration, the support that the community offers. When we have this, we will look to do a completely new website that also conveys that emotion, introducing images, rather than just colour.
NOTE: 50 Challenges is for both men and women. It is therefore very important that the colours work for both. For this reason, the current logo is built around purple and orange. The corporate identity has to work well for fundraising, and these are both colours that stand out well in a marathon crowd!
It would also help if you look at our Instagram feed, to see how we have been using the current corporate logos to help communicate what 50 Challenges is all about: @50_challenges - if we can keep using the same colours so we don't lose the identity we have built up here, then great, but it's more important to get the right design.
FYI: I have attached the current corporate colours as RGB
