Description
Experience Level: Expert
We are launching a new travel app, and need someone to help us design a logo to set us up from a branding perspective. It's a really innovative, fun, product, and we have a tight brief (we'll share with anyone we shortlist), but the main points are included below. If you feel you fit the bill, please send your three most relevant logo designs, and explain why you're the right fit. This will be our 2nd hire for this job (the 1st was a failure), so we're determined that this time we're looking for a branding specialist to partner with, as opposed to anyone who claims to be a 'logo designer' (there are thousands of those on this platform!) But we're really looking for someone who will commit to the process of developing a brand we'll absolutely fall in love with - whatever it takes!
We're looking for something/one way more creative than simply putting a basic icon next to a piece of text... that's easy to do and we even have an in-house designer who could probably achieve that, or more. But we want to build an iconic brand, so please only apply if you feel your experience and skill set is extraordinary. If the three designs you send don't hit that brief, and/or you don't feel your skills are up to it, please don't apply - you won't be shortlisted anyway, so it just saves a heap of time for both of us!
Here's the topline brief (we'll share more with shortlisted applicants and ask you to decide if you're a good fit from there)...
In terms of style, we want something:
- Fresh
- Modern
- Clean
- High-end (we’re not going after the “bargain basement” shopper here - we want to attract the more exclusive hotels and spas in each city, so the design must appeal to that sort of client and shopper too.)
In terms of fonts, we're drawn to clever combinations of script and sans serif fonts, or bold and fine fonts. Basically, pairings that shouldn’t work, but do!
For colours, we could go one of two ways.... Either luxurious, soft pastels - greys, pinks, greens etc (think modern interior design hotel) or bold contrasting colours - hot pink and dark blue/bright yellow, or green and orange etc. The latter is probably more unisex and eye-catching, but we like both aesthetically, so I want to give the option, in case the softer options could work ( we're not designers, so really will take your lead on this, so long as it hits the overall brief!)
If you like the sound of the project, we'll share more details, plus examples. But to apply, please send 3 of your designs that you think hits the brief. If you don't send three designs, or you just refer me to your portfolio, I'll assume you haven't read this job description, and will remove your application from the shortlist. I only say that as we're looking for serious designers only, so want to find a way to exclude anyone who isn't committed from the start.
Thanks!

Hi Alexis, I'm very interested in working with you on this project and will send my proposal shortly but please can you just explain why the job is in dollars yet it states that you're based in the UK?
Thanks
