Illustrate a character to be used as the focus of an online brand

I have a web/mobile based service that I'm looking to completely rebrand. To help stand out from the crowd, I'm looking to rebrand with a focus on an illustrated character.

The job is to create the illustrated character (just in one style/position for now, but there will be scope for more in future), that will be used as part of the core branding going forward.

The job may also include development of a logo closely tied to the illustrated character, but that will be post character development.

The character is a robot! Ideally, I'd like to have the source files (PSD/AI/etc), but this is negotiable. I fully see the value in using a professional designer, so I don't really have any intention of making my own "tweaks".

This project should be a lot of fun, and should I imagine, require occasional development. More details are available upon request.

I'm easy to work with, a web/mobile developer by trade, I deal with designers every day - so there shouldn't be any surprises for either of us.

No deadline, just when you can fit it in :)
