Description
Experience Level: Expert
I have bought a house and need to carry out some internal works. I have to submit the plans and a summary of thee works to the local town hall.
Attached you can see the current plans, also the proposed new layout, where we are dividing the back section of the house to create a 2 bedroom apartment.
Summary of what we want to do:
- Block off the existing walk through to the back section of the house
- Add a wall to that room along the corridor to create a bedroom
- Knock through to the back house in a new location - will need to rejig the hallway slightly, as I think the partition wall at the back runs into the middle of the current hallway, right to left as you view on the doc.
- Create a corridor and two new bedrooms in the back section of the house
- Change the current back house front door to double glass doors, as will be our bedroom
- Block up the current open plan walkthrough in the back property - currently two reception rooms. This will create a separate apartment we want to create.
- Take out part of the wall that divides the back house kitchen and lounge to create an open plan living space
- Add a sky light in that space
- Create second bathroom in the apartment, in the current large walk in wardrobe
- Bring the wall out into the new bathroom space, to make the second bedroom larger
- Take out the spiral staircase that leads to the upstairs room and block that off. This upstairs space is accessible from outside and it will be my office.
