Remote | Contract / Freelance | Ongoing Engagement About Matchspace Matchspace is a growing SaaS platform helping tennis, padel, squash and pickleball clubs increase participation and simplify club management. Used by clubs across the UK, Matchspace provides tools for running leagues, ladders, tournaments, events and player engagement activities. We are continually improving the platform and are looking for an experienced developer to join us on an ongoing basis. The Opportunity We are looking for a practical and experienced software developer who can work within an existing product and help drive the next stage of development. Our platform is already established and built using .NET and React Native. This role is focused on understanding, maintaining and enhancing the current system rather than building a new product from scratch. You will work closely with the founders to develop new features, improve existing functionality, resolve technical issues and help introduce AI-assisted development processes that allow us to move faster and build better software. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys product development, problem-solving and working as part of a small, ambitious team. Key Responsibilities • Understand and work within the existing Matchspace codebase • Develop new features across web, mobile and backend systems • Maintain and improve existing functionality • Investigate and resolve bugs and support issues • Work with .NET backend services and APIs • Work with the React Native mobile application • Collaborate with founders to scope, estimate and prioritise development work • Review and improve system architecture where appropriate • Participate in testing, deployment and release processes • Provide ongoing monthly support and maintenance • Help implement modern AI-assisted development workflows • Identify opportunities to use AI to improve both development efficiency and product capabilities • Review, validate and extend AI-generated code to production standards Required Skills and Experience • Strong commercial experience with .NET development • Strong commercial experience with React Native • Experience working within established software products • Experience understanding and extending existing codebases • Strong knowledge of API development and integrations • Experience using Git and collaborative development practices • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills • Experience supporting live production applications • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Desirable Skills • Experience with Microsoft Azure • Experience deploying and maintaining mobile applications • Experience with SaaS platforms • Experience integrating third-party services and APIs • Experience using AI coding tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar • Experience building AI-powered features into software products • Experience working with small businesses or startup environments What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who can quickly become productive within an existing product. About the company We are a small UK retailer of swimming pool water treatment chemicals. We are expanding our European operations and require a specialist consultant to manage the biocide registration process for our chlorine-based products across four EU member states. The role We are looking for an experienced EU biocide regulatory consultant to manage and submit national marketing authorisation applications for three swimming pool disinfectant products across Belgium, Poland, Spain, and the Netherlands. You will take full ownership of each country application, from dossier preparation through to submission and authority liaison, working directly with our internal team. Products SDIC Granules — Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate Dihydrate (UN3077, PT2) Multifunctional Tablets — TCCA + copper sulphate pentahydrate + boric acid (UN3077, PT2) Stabilised Chlorine Tablets — Trichloroisocyanuric Acid / TCCA (UN1479, PT2) All active substances are included in the EU BPR Review Programme (IIAHC notifications). Our active substance supplier is confirmed on the ECHA Article 95 list. Scope of work Belgium Registration via Gestautor system. French and Dutch bilingual label. Restricted or full evaluation depending on authority assessment. Poland Formal application to URPL. Polish-language label and SDS required. Efficacy data and sworn translations needed.
