Product Design Engineer Needed – Small Flexible Consumer Product / CAD & Prototype I’m looking for an experienced product design/mechanical engineer to help develop a small flexible consumer product from an existing concept into an initial functional prototype. The product is a small, preferably one-piece flexible component containing very fine, soft internal features. It also incorporates a flexible split/opening which needs to open temporarily and reliably return to its original shape without permanent deformation. I’m looking for someone who has experience with: • Physical consumer product development • Flexible materials such as TPE, TPU and/or silicone • Small, fine flexible features • CAD for manufacture • Injection-moulded product design / DFM • Functional prototyping and design iteration This is not simply a CAD tracing/rendering job. I need someone who can help develop the geometry, material choice and functionality and advise how the design can eventually be manufactured at very low unit cost. I already have concept visuals and a clear functional brief, but these will only be shared privately after confidentiality has been agreed. Initial budget: £200–£300. This budget is for the first development stage only — feasibility/design development, initial CAD and ideally a functional prototype or prototype-ready design. Further development may follow if the concept performs successfully. Please include examples of any relevant work involving flexible moulded products, TPE/TPU/silicone, fine flexible features or injection-moulded consumer products. Can sketch my ideas & physically build a rough test model

I am looking for someone who can do two things: 1.⁠ ⁠Listen to my product idea and sketch it out clearly. 2.⁠ ⁠Physically build a rough basic model of it, using simple materials if possible. I do not want CAD files, 3D renders, digital images, UX design, branding, or a polished prototype. I need someone who can actually make a simple physical version so I can see whether the idea works in real life. The model does not need to look beautiful. It does not need to be factory-ready. It can be rough, basic, handmade, and made from wood, plastic, card, foam board, 3D printed parts, brackets, hinges, magnets, or whatever simple materials make sense. The important thing is that you can think practically, sketch the idea, and then build a physical proof-of-concept model yourself. I am based in London and would prefer someone I can meet in person first, but I am open to discussing options. I would prefer someone based in London and or near London. I know some designers are like "any designer who is worthwhile makes cad drawings and renders". Back 200 years ago, there were no computers, yet people made things, inventions were still created. I need an 'old school' mindset because I just purely want a person who can and does make things in their home. Also, someone who has a great understanding on how things work and when things won't work. Custom macro for Solidworks CAD view creation

I would like someone to create a code or macro that lets me quickly export standard views of a 3D model from Solidworks CAD (2024 & 2026 but ideally not version specific). Currently to export screenshots to send to people I manually orient the model to specific views - e.g. front, top, left and snap a jpeg. I would like to automate this to save time, so it will automatically take the standard views and export them to a named folder. For example see in the images the manual method, I would align to each view to get the views shown top right. I don't mind what method is used to create this but ideally would like a single button or shortcut key to press to activate the routine.

Help designing window layout to the front elevation of a house

I have a project which I propose to start next April. This will be our 5th project, so we are well versed with the process and completing similar projects. I am a qualified Building Surveyor and a Property Developer by profession: • We have planning permission for the works. • We designed the works and have had an architectural technician draw up the detail. • We have structural engineers designs and calculations. • We have construction drawings prepared. • We have Party Walls covered. • We have building Regs covered. • We have obtained quotes and have selected a builder. What we are not quite happy with is the front elevation which is probably the most important piece for us. How the house will look from the front is crucial. We have tried to finesse the elevation with our current “architectural technician” but he’s not a designer but is good at pulling the drawings together. We sent him AI generated images of what we wanted plus some photos of a property locally which we like. We like the painted brickwork, the colour of the pain etc. See pics and images below. I appreciate there are issues with where the openings sit in each room, but we are prepared to accept this to get the front looking its best. The roof on the drawings attached is not quite right too. Do you think you can help us get the location, sizes of the windows designed so it looks right? Let me know and if you can provide a quote for your input then I can obtain the CAD drawings.
