Description
Experience Level: Expert
Jewellery CAD Designer Wanted – Ongoing Work
We are an established custom jewellery business based in Dublin, Ireland, looking for an experienced Jewellery CAD Designer to work with us on an ongoing basis.
Our current CAD designer will be changing career soon so we are looking for someone reliable who can step in and produce CAD designs to the standard shown in the attached images.
You must have specific experience designing jewellery for manufacture, not simply general 3D modelling experience.
Our work includes:
* Engagement and wedding rings
* Diamond and gemstone rings
* Remodelling customers’ existing jewellery
* Pendants, name pieces and personalised jewellery
* Men’s rings and signet rings
* Bespoke one-off pieces
We will normally provide photographs, sketches, stone measurements and a description of what we need. You should be able to take this information and produce an accurate, practical CAD model ready for manufacture.
Important requirements:
* Strong jewellery CAD experience
* Excellent understanding of stone setting, claws, bezels, halos, pavé, etc.
* Understanding of minimum metal thicknesses and manufacturing tolerances
* Designs must be practical for casting, setting and finishing
* Ability to work from photographs and measurements
* Good communication
* Reasonably quick turnaround
* Ability to make revisions when required
Please look carefully at the attached examples. This is the standard and type of work we require.
When applying, please send examples of jewellery CAD work that you personally have designed, particularly diamond-set pieces.
We are not looking for somebody for just one job. If we find the right designer, there is the potential for regular ongoing CAD work from our workshop.
Please also let us know:
1. What jewellery CAD software you use
2. Your typical turnaround time
3. Your price or approximate price range per design
4. How many jewellery CAD jobs you can comfortably complete per week
Please only apply if jewellery CAD is an area you specialise in.
