Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks
I am looking for a developer with expert-level experience in jQuery/javascript and WordPress development. The site is already designed, it just needs to be built. Unfortunately, the time we have to build it is limited.
Project Overview:
The site will be both a blog as well as a product catalog. The product catalog will NOT have eCommerce included. Calls to action, rather than being “add to cart” and ultimately “checkout,” will instead be “request a quote,” or “enquire about this piece..” The client needs access to an administrative backend so they can manage the site themselves after launch.
At this time I have decided to go with WordPress. It’ll obviously work well for the blog side of the site, and I think it can be made to work for the product catalog as well. I looked into using xCart, ZenCart, and WooCommerce (among others) for the product catalog, but I don’t think it will be necessary since we won’t be processing any actual orders. I’m open to other solutions as long as we can get the site built and launched on time and on budget.
The site is currently designed, and the design has been approved by the client. I have a good amount of experience with web development, but time is short, and there’s some areas where I’m going to need help.
1) Site’s top navigation. Needs to be engineered using jQuery or Javascript, and integrated into WordPress.
2) Product catalog development & setup (Wordpress and maybe some scripting)
3) Product catalog – rollover/zoom product images (jQuery)
4) Content carousel/slideshow on Home page, and on product catalog (jQuery).. Should be able to be updated by the client via admin.
5) Responsive site layout.. This is less of a concern, but if the site can be setup to be responsive without too much difficulty it’d be super. I’m pretty good with HTML/CSS, but i’ve not built anything truly “responsive.”
Time frame:
The site MUST go live on, or before, December 1st.
