Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We have an online application aimed at the education sector. It consists of a wheel (or circle) with a similar appearance to a target or dartboard. The wheel is divided into 6 sectors, each sector has 8 levels (from inside to out) and each level has 3 segments. Each segment is linked to descriptive statement, which are displayed below the wheel. Users are able to click a radio button for each statement that they can do. When each statements is clicked, it is coloured in on the wheel. This leaves the individual, or their teacher, with a visual profile of their current abilities in 6 areas.
Currently we feel that the look of the application is a bit \"yesterday\" and we would like it to look a bit \"tomorrow\". This will be accessed by children and teachers so must be professional, clean and visually appealing. It is also key that the graphics load quickly.
There are 4 pages or views in the application, and examples are attached. They are:
1) The initial page
2) The wheel view
3) The report view
4) The whole group view
Now for the technical bit:
It is a web based application hosted on a centralised server.
Support for Internet browsers - IE7, IE8, Mozilla firefox 3 and above, Google Chrome
Optimized for screen resolutions of 1280x1024 (usable in others)
Written in HTML, CSS and ASP
We are undergoing further development to try and add support for IE6 - we have an issue with displaying transparent .png image files.
Communication throughout will be by phone and email with the project manager and prodominantly by email with the web/programming team.
