Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I run an online based advanced driver training business, which helps companies and private individuals across the UK. We provide on-road driving courses for a wide range of customers, including corporate driver training sessions for business clients, private sessions for those facing a court hearing for speeding, sessions for young drivers, and sessions for those lacking confidence, often following a serious road traffic collision.
I work with a hand grown network of over 200 qualified advanced driving instructors around the UK, who work on a freelance basis. Typically we get a lead or confirmed sale in, we then email all tutors, who then list dates they are free to help. The main part to this role is lots of email exchanges between clients and tutors, working out what tutors can help and on what dates, and then updating client.
It is currently only me doing the operational side and I am now looking for right hand support on occasions throughout the week and to a higher level of involvement when I am away.
Duties
1. Return phone call enquiries from prospective clients, and briefly outline the driver training options and how we can help them
2. Enter new leads from email enquiries onto the CRM system to enable us to follow leads up and track their progress from sale to customer pipeline
3. Email communicate with our national network of advanced driving tutors to arrange advanced driving courses for clients
4. Create and manage an Excel training schedule for larger jobs where we can train up to 50+ drivers
5. Proof read and edit driving course reports, which tutors have submitted online via our reporting system, and forward on to clients
This job would suite someone who is homebased (essential) and has other jobs with other clients, but can quickly switch my business as and when emails or phone calls are needing attending to, which I don’t always have the time to do. Sometimes I may just need you to proof read reports, another time I may ask you to deal with a new email or phone lead.
Access to phone and email during working hours during 9am to 5:30 is essential
I’m really looking for someone I can introduce to the entire operational side to the business slowly, and in time will be able to manage the entire operation when I am busy or away on holiday or business.
Skills
1. A confident and highly professional phone manor (but not generally “selling” or “sales” based, you will be more of an information point)
2. Excellent at multi tasking and working with emails and co-ordinating training dates
3. Outstanding attention to detail
4. Able to use MS Excel and MS Outlook
5. Ideally have own laptop to work from on training in office and when you come into office of occasional meetings
6. Good general IT skills
7. Excellent English for proof reading reports and sometimes rewrite poorly written parts from busy tutors
I would be looking for an initial 3-month trial. In the first instant can you email me your CV and a short covering letter outlining your current situation.
I am ideally looking for someone who can come into my office in Shrewsbury (SY1 1SP) for initial training over 2 days, and then maybe every couple of months – could be more if the role expends.
I would be paying £500 a month for this to cover around 30 hours a month. If it falls significantly below 30 hours, or significantly about 30 hours we can review this. But based on past experience 30 hours is about right.

Hi, Can I please ask if it is essential to come to the office, whilst I am originally from the UK have been living and working remotely in Spain for the last 10 years. I would love to send a proposal for this position but would like to clarify this first of all. I am happy to do a conference call for an interview or any training.
