Description
Description of every module: We have an Access Database that we would like to take to the next level. It was developed in Access as it is easy for Agile Development.
Description of requirements/functionality: Regulatory requests from around the world are centralised in the EU. There requests often require further information to be obtained. We want to track these incoming requests, generate outgoing requests related to them, produce standard responses based on historical data, modify this data for future requests if changes in the regulatory framework have occurred. Metrics regarding workload for processing staff, regions, products and activities are to be tracked. We have a functional database with all the built in features in Access and VBA but need to move it to the next level. Hopefully a fully fledged C# application with the data in MSSQL. This would enable continuation of the existing system whilst the development occurs.
The phases would be:-
1) Migrate to Access connected to MSSQL with all the VBA code checked and tested for compatibility.
2) Tidy up the functionality and remove all redundant functions.
3) Establish a formal development life cycle, moving from the Agile environment that has been possible with MS Access. (Possibly C#)
Data Entry forms, Reporting Metrics, Reporting Queries
OS requirements: Windows

Hi Gary,
I have developed my own Access-2-SQL migration application. It converts tables (as data) to SQL and converts queries to either Stored Procedures or UDFs.
If you want, I can sign an NDA and then you can upload your access database. I'll then put the database through my application and compare the tables (and data), SPs and UDFs against the Access database.
If that's not possible, create a new version, minus the data and upload it. I'll then run it through my application and compare the results against the database.
It then depends on how many modules you have in VBA and which can be converted to stored procedures/UDFs within SQL (leaving the rest to be created within the C# application.
Thanks,

Hello Gary,
Is the job still available? Also is it possible to just few images of the forms(you can hide logo and other proprietary informstion). This is just to accurately bid since this is fixed price project. -
Hi Gary
Do you want this to be a fully based web app or do you still want to use the access database?
thanks
ConnorGary W.12 Oct 2016H Conor, A fully fledged web application, using a MSSQL back-end. The parallel use of the Access front-end and whet ever solution is chosen as the front-end, (could be all web based too) is for continuity during the development, hence the need for porting the current code to work with MSSQL.
Cheers
GaryConnor T.12 Oct 2016Ok.
Is it possible to see a copy of the access database or for you to do a screenshare on skype so I know what's involved?
