Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I am looking for technical advice on garment development and pattern/tech pack development.
I am aspiring to launch a clothing line of mens and womens casual wear tees, tanks, plaid shirts and casual loose neck sweaters. I have the style/design in mind of what I am looking for but no technical skills or experience in fabric selection, sewing knowledge or fashion design. Just the vision!
I would like to run two different designs to start the line - the first being a plain/blank line which I plan on adding graphics to myself:
- Womens loose crew neck casual fit tee - longer in style with a small slit in the sides, the back a tad longer than the front (to be able to wear with leggings) and rolled sleeves.
- womens vneck casual tee - same as above.
- womens halter tank top
- womens plaid button up long sleeve - longer in style (to wear with leggings)
- womens loose neck hoodie (longer in style) with AND without pockets.
- mens loose neck hoodie
The second being a line of the same style clothing as above but with the incorporation of a "wood grain" or "floral" material stripe, pocket or sleeves.
In terms of material I am looking for advice on this. I am wanting something super soft, durable, that wont shrink significantly or twist/deform over time and nothing that goes "crappy" after a few washes (majority poly blends seem to be bad for that). I am leaning toward a triblend of some sort and also really like ring spun cotton. Colourwise, we are sticking with white, heather gray and black for now - with the wood grain and floral colours as an exception.
In terms of finishing, we would like a logo tag on the bottom right or left of the shirt as well as sizing and material information on the inside side and/or neck.
I am just curious as to how this works... I am in Ontario, Canada but willing to work with you remotely. Do you provide an estimate in terms of how much of your time/involvement you will need to complete this and we go from there? Is there another way this works? I would appreciate any insight you have.
I would love to chat more about this and look forward to hearing back from you soon! I can send some photos of that we are thinking in terms of style as well once I have a better idea of how this process works :)
Thanks so much,
Mandy Wellsman

Hi Mandy,
are you open to manufacturing in China? If you are then I can help you with the patterns, tech packs, fabric sourcing, sampling and manufacturing. Small quantity order is acceptable ;)
Let me know!
cheers,
Agnes
