Market Researcher
Seeking market researcher to support focus group market research. The market research is to evaluate the women’s activewear market. This is the second phase of a three-phased approach. The results of the first phase, a short survey conducted via facebook, will be used to help inform and direct the focus group discussions. The second phase will be conducted through a series of focus groups with research questions focusing on women's clothing, exercise and activity, lifestyle, and shopping habits. The focus groups will seek to identify how the current market offerings meet participants need for activewear in all stages of the their consumer experience, from selecting a store/brand, identifying their size, trying on products, to use and wear. The focus group outcomes should identify market segmentation and potential early adapters and specific product and product design needs. Target participants are women over the age of 35 and a size 8 and above.
The lead for this activity lives and works remotely outside of the US and will be travelling to the US to conduct the research.* The researcher will need to be able to work remotely and will be needed on site for the interviews in Washington, DC the week of August 21-25.
Tasks:
• At each location, identify, recruit and support focus group interviews for up to 2 groups of 10 people. Interviews will take place over a one-week period.
• Work with the researcher to develop screeners and discussion guides and help finalize the questions.
• Prepare participants and meeting locations, and collect basic participant data
• Help to moderate focus groups interface with and manage clients; take notes.
• Prepare interview summaries and analyzing findings.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree required
• 1-2 years of marketing experience
• Must be incredibly organized
• Ability to manage up
• Proactive nature is a strong plus
Additional Requirements:
• Experience organizing and moderating focus groups.
• Experience writing focus group questions.
• Ability to work independently.
