Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I am looking for help with creating a spreadsheet to collect meter readings and calculate consumption. I have tried to attached a spreadsheet showing what I mean but this function doesn't seem to be working currently.
The data entry person needs to be able to select multiple meters from a filterable list of meters. The list of meters is shown on the third tab of the attached spreadsheet. The meter reading entry form will show the selected meters and include the following entry fields:
• Date for the selected group
• Meter reading for each meter
• Time of meter reading (defaulted to noon)
• Whether the reading is a rollover – ie the reading was 99932 and now is 112 (defaulted to No)
Once the readings have been entered the macro will add these readings to the list as shown in the second tab on the attached spreadsheet.
There must be a facility to edit and remove meter readings from the list. It might make sense to have the list in a list box format where the readings can be filtered by site and utility and sorted by date with an edit and delete selection buttons.
The Monthly Consumption tab will calculate and display the monthly consumption from the readings and will need to be filterable by utility and by site. These could be displayed as a form but not necessary.
The Percentage change tab provides the percentage change from the previous month/year for each site with conditional formatting to highlight positive, negative and extreme changes. Again this could be displayed as a form but not necessary.
Optional Extra:
1. I would like an integrity alarm before the meters are added to the list. This would highlight meter readings that are less than the previous meter reading or where the reading was considerably higher than the previous reading (this might need to be done as a comparison to the average increase in reading). The data entry person could then choose to go back and amend or accept the readings.
2. I would like to include a graphical display tab however this will depend on the complexity of the requirement and time required to put in place.
In addition to the above work I may require some urgent assistance with other macro work that would be required this week.
Please contact me as soon as possible and let me know your availability and we can discuss the work in more detail then.
Many thanks
Jonathan Webb
