Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Legal topic: Employment
Description of legal work: I am looking for an employment lawyer to give me legal advice and help me understand my position.
I have resigned from the role of Office Manager after more than 2 years of employment, due to continuous and persistent events of bullying & harassment at work that I am suffering from my line manager who also happens to be the person in HR in my company also because I have been unable to resolve it internally and informally
There is no company counselor, I can’t raise it with HHRR since the only person in charge is the person that is bullying me and her line manager and COO doesn’t want to get involved. My company is not following the instructions at the Grievance Procedure of our Corporate Manual and I feel helpless.
I asked ACAS to get involved but got so unfortunate to reach to a person that wasn't very professional from the beginning. She just issued a certificate in case I want to go to an employment tribunal, but there was no conciliation at all.
My notice period is 3 months but I'd like to reduce it and/or get it paid without the need of me coming to work, since this situation is affecting me a lot.
Throughout all this time working at the same company I have lost my confidence and self-esteem, I've felt humiliated and degraded, with no autonomy at workplace, I've been treated differently to other employees, I've been demoted instead of promoted and my levels of anxiety and stress have reached a level that not only I had a breakout of shingles but I’ve also had to start seeing a psychotherapist. It not only has affected me, my physical and mental health but also, my home and family life.
I'd appreciate initial advice and if it's good for me to go to an employment tribunal. I've gathered some examples, e-mails, etc but not sure this would be sufficient.
Thanks a lot
