Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I am completing a database with psychometric scores from a number of old projects. I have pdf reports from 19 individuals, for each of which I want to extract 108 data points into Excel.
There are two variants of report, an older one (for only four candidates) and a newer one (the remaining fifteen), both of which arrange the points differently (although largely in similar clusters). The order in which I need the points is in a third order.
To make the work a bit more efficient, I will provide (a) two example reports (one in each variant) showing which data points I want to extract in red (the numbers shown on page 6, but the pattern is the same on pages 7, 8 & 9); (b) an Excel document with two worksheets, one for each report variant, with the names of the respective candidates. Also, a listing of the categories into which I want the data placed. For the newer variant, I will also provide a listing of the order the categories appear in the report. Data points can then be pasted in groups of fifteen into the destination categories; (c) the remaining unmarked pdfs, in two groups.
If you are interested in the work, then I will send you (a) and (b) so you can estimate the time and cost involved. What I can say is that my 15-year-old daughter and I did some of this in the summer and managed to reduce the time for each report to about 5 – 10 minutes each. So it sounds complicated, but isn’t in practice.
