What is a booklet format?
As the name suggests, a booklet is like a small book. It opens like a book and has pages like a book, but is usually much thinner. Smaller booklets tend to be popular choices for conference materials and sales documents, while thicker booklets with more pages make great catalogues and promotional magazines.
When you choose the booklet format with Print Express, you select the number of pages, the number of copies, and the size, weight and finish of the paper. You then upload what you want us to print, and we do the rest – in just 48 hours. Our printers will take your custom designs and print them using our high-quality paper and vivid inks, ensuring you get the crispest images and clearest text possible.
Each copy is then saddle stitched, meaning we secure the booklet with durable metal wire at the top and bottom of the centre fold. We then fold the booklets, pack them and ship them out to you. All you have to do is distribute them.
So whether you want to print an instructions manual, an annual report or a sales pitch, the booklet format will present all the information you want with professional panache.
What is booklet binding?
Booklets, like books and magazines, can be bound in many ways, but at Print Express, we offer secure saddle stitching on all our booklets – for very good reason.
Saddle stitches look like staples, but they are much more than that. We use a high-quality, strong metal wire that is cut to ensure it holds all your pages perfectly in place before being folded back on itself to hold everything tightly. Unlike mere staples, this wire is especially strong, and the length of the wire will depend on the number of pages you need in each booklet.
We chose to focus on saddle stitching because – unlike other booklet binding techniques – it offers the perfect combination of strength and value. Bindings that use adhesives and covers are strong, but they are also expensive and they need time to dry. Bindings that use spiral-shaped wires or plastics are cheap, but pages can fall out.
Saddle stitching, however, holds pages in place but won't blow out your budget. Best of all, once the wires are in place and the spine is folded, the booklet is ready to be used. That's how we can get your booklets to you so fast and at such a great price!
