Hi there,
I\'m having a nightmare trying to image my business laptops. I have created a master laptop with XP Professional and Office 2003 installed on it, along with some other bits and pieces like Adobe Viewer, etc. I have also installed Virtual PC so that I can run XP and Office 2007 as a \'machine\' of it\'s own, as well as a couple more virtual machines for MS Office exams.
I have created an image of this machine using Acronis True Image, have created the startup disk so I can boot into Acronis software, and have copied the image as a whole onto a new laptop. Same make, same model, some differences perhaps in the components within the laptop. I\'ve also upgraded all laptops to 320 gig drives (western digital) and 3 gigs of Crucial RAM.
It always LOOKS as if it has imaged successfully. However, sometimes the imaged machine won\'t start, other times it blue screens. And if I manage to log into the machine and try to run one of the virtual machines it blue screens at that point!!
So I\'m looking for someone who can help us get a solid image, and show us either what we are doing wrong, or what we need to TWEAK on the laptops. I\'m interested in getting someone in for a day to help us out. We have 65+ laptops to image, so I will be very grateful if someone technically minded who has had experience imaging machines before could come and offer some of their expertise. Ideally I\'d like to stay with Acronis. I am aware of their other products for deploying, but to be honest I have staff member who has the time, and it would be good for her to get the experience.
I would like this to be as soon as tomorrow! ;-)
Please get in touch if you can help. We are based in Southwark, London and are a small IT Training company (we also do training room hire) called Progressive Training and Development.
Thanks,
Leanne
