Well hopefully this is where I come in. I have been working for a number of self-employed individuals for the last 10 years and actually get a weird sense of satisfaction from creating order out of chaos! You can post me your receipts to my London office (not a home office, has full mailroom and reception facilities) or if you are in London or the surrounds I may be able to arrange for collection dependent on workload. You can then leave me to it and I will go through your receipts and deliver a spreadsheet with all expenditure dated, itemised, costed and if required broken down by expenditure type. I can customise the spreadsheet to show the categories relevant to your industry. You will have the added bonus of having a happy accountant (a rarity at the best of times never mind at tax deadline time) and it should save you money as accountants tend to charge a premium for this service on top of preparing your accounts.
I can accept receipts in any format. Some people give me a shoebox or a carrier bag and some even in a nice folder (although these people are a rare breed). One client once provided a years worth of accounts stashed in used socks - this is a genuine story, I will name and shame with every hourlie purchased! ;o)

Obviously I need your receipts and ideally I would like a copy of your previous accounts or at least a brief understanding of the main areas of expenditure for your industry. If you have a template you would like me to work from then great but I have a really simple, easy to understand one that I can use if preferred.
