I did want to work collaboratively with this freelancer and get my CV to a point that I found it to be satisfactory. Michelle did improve the format and content of my CV, but the first draft contained grammatical errors and required further work to reduce duplication and certain sections of the CV required elaboration.
Following my feedback, I was surprised to read Michelle’s comments. It was apparent, she had taken offence to my comments and showed a lack of professionalism and an unwillingness to make any amends.
Furthermore, I had received a final invoice for work, that had not yet been completed or approved from my side. At this point I made it clear I wanted to walk away and negotiate a reduced price for the first draft- this was due to the lack of collaboration and good customer service skills.
However, Michelle then took it upon herself to make the changes and forced a second draft upon me.
In the future, I will be more rigorous in ensuring I choose the right person for my business. Michelle came up highly recommended on PPH, unfortunately, this was not my experience.
