Los Angeles, CA, USI originally inquired about a lower per-article rate with James in exchange for hiring him to produce a large number of articles (at least 24). He respectfully declined my offer, so I chose to pay his full rate and try him out on just one article. I liked James' writing style, but the article he produced was light on specifics and could have been better researched. It also contained misspelled words, and gramatical and other errors that you wouldn't expect from a professional writer. Further, when the job was completed, he requested to be paid a higher amount than the contracted hourly, e.g., "what the article is worth", because it contained more than 500 words. Note that I did not ask him to write more or less than that amount. Fortunately James sent me an invoice for the originally agreed amount and I paid him immediately.
