Hamilton, NZWorking with Raj was difficult. I accepted the quote too quickly. On reviewing his experience after doing so, I noted that he did not have any stated photographic retouching experience. The job was to put a portrait on a white background. My published instructions stated that the hair would be difficult, because it was spikey. The first work product Raj produced was not very good; the edge around the hair line was very hard; it looked comical. I suggested to Raj that I pay for a further hour ($25) so he could correct it. He did not immediately understand this request, as with all communication it took several messages for him to absorb what was required, even though it was very simple. Raj charged $50 for the additional work, so I ended up paying US$75 for one photo. The ultimate product was good, but this was probably the most expensive photograph touch-up in the history of peopleperhour. The mistake was mine, I think. I should have been more careful about who I selected to do the work.
