Hayes, GBHasan did an ok job. However what was meant to be achieved over a weekend took over a week because of us going back and forth. Hasan can be quite impatient and miss out important changes. If you are a detailed person and have a clear vision of what you’d like you really have to take the time to explain to him.
Before Hasan told me to accept his proposal I had explained that this was my first ever vlog and that some images were taken with my phone. He acknowledged this and still told me to accept. I always gave a detailed bullet point review (prepared in notes) of very specific changes I wanted eg text on the screen at specific points, music at certain times, chronological order of the evident (which was very clear from the images sent) - but still something always missing. At several points I requested he show me fonts to use for the text, different kind of transitions. He never did. When I raised the fact I didn’t not like the transitions , he removed them all completely. They were quite elementary.
A few days later when I requested changes to be made to the next draft, he used these same points to label me as “nervous and oppressive” - things one does not day to someone who has made it extremely clear it is their first vlog and has come to the platform to look for help in refining it. I was so upset after this and felt uncomfortable doing work with this person. Instead of trying to reach middle ground, Hasan told me to “take my video, send a cancellation request and not message him anywhere” knowing fully well he was in the wrong. I never once said I would not pay him but he was so adamant I look for another freelancer and finish my work with that person all because I requested the text on the screen at different times.
He used this to scare me as he gave me a low quality unfinished link of the video and sent me away then, told me to stop messaging him then blocked my number. He was so disrespectful to me and then came back the day after to explain the reason he called me those kind of things was because I was “interrupting a Sunday lunch with his wife” - something that could’ve been totally avoided if he just explained that he did not want to work on the Sunday. He did not think to apologise and just sent me another link with a video that was STILL incomplete. I literally had to ask him “look at what I told you to add to the screen and look at what you wrote- are they the same?” After he realised I was correct he replied “okay, fixing, anything else?” still not being the bigger person and apologising for his terrible behaviour as a freelancer the day before.
Hasan was disrespectful and showed signs of thinking he could get away with being paid money for a shoddy job. Just because it was my first vlog does not mean I cannot see when basic work has been done and advantage is trying to be taken. When the video was finished to an alright extent, as a goodwill gesture I asked Hasan how much he would be willing to accept because I didn’t want to be “gifted” the video and did not mind paying him something towards the video- but not the full price. He was still asking for the full price which I was certainly not going to pay him to which he messaged “You must pay the agreed price. It would be dishonest. This is the first time I've met someone who doesn't want to pay the agreed price.” Bearing in mind this is someone who insulted me, sent me away with a half done video and told me to look for another freelancer on the day I was supposed to receive a finished project asking for the full price?? What a joke.
Hasan needs to practice patience in the future and understand that his words carry weight. He can’t act disrespectfully to clients then come back the next day and try to continue like everything is perfect without trying to settle things. Life does not work that way. His ego ruined what could have been a perfectly smooth process.
Thank you for the draft, no thank you for the time you took over basic changes and such a terrible attitude to PAID work. WeHasan Huseyin S.
I definitely do not recommend working with her. After he got the job, he asked for a lot of things that weren't in the description. I accepted it so there was no problem. Despite this, he requested 20 revisions. Only 10 of them were to change the texts in the video again according to his wishes. But he wanted more. And even though it's Sunday. He then threatened to give low stars. She also told me that £80 was a lot of money and I should do whatever she wanted. In the end, she only gave me £60 of my money, even though we agreed on £80. Rude and lack of empathy I think he has psychological problems. Before hiring him, consider whether you will risk your profile.
