Troy, MI, USNick was very responsive and quick to get work done. He was able to incorporate our branding and even caught an inconsistency in the colors our branding document had that will help us have better consistency in our future work! He delivered a professional product and the source files as requested. We initially were going to rate very good rather than excellent, but decided to stick with excellent because of the product delivered. These were small in the grand scheme of things, but noted by our team (from the recipient of a service standpoint) that made us think about the very good rating, so take away what you will from them. :)
1) I think this was mainly an attention to details thing, or maybe a "haste makes waste" thing. But it didn't seem much effort was put into learning much about our company. While different from some of our past experiences, we understand that technically a designer doesn't have to know about the company to make something. Except for even after we directly stated that we only dealt with indoor growing, images of plants being grown outdoors were still used. Once we provided some stock images ourselves this was resolved.
2) As I mentioned, Nick's responsiveness was quite incredible. We are not always able to check our email ever second of everyday though (i.e. we were in a two-day retreat during this project) and coming back to see multiple emails stacked up repeatedly asking for feedback was a little shocking. Again, this is pretty mundane in the grand scheme of things and we assumed it was just some differences in cultural communication (or perhaps generational communication) differences and not him being demanding or anything. Once we explained that we couldn't always respond right away and that there were multiple busy stakeholders who needed to provide feedback (which can take time), the overabundance of emails calmed down a bit. If this is something that might bother you, just communicate as soon as you can and express the need for response turnover time. Likewise, if you want someone to get a project done very quickly for you, Nick could be your person!!
